What is pepperoni made out of? From tomatoes?

Pepperoni is raw, uncooked meat. It has been preserved with drying, salt (sodium nitrate), sugar (dextrose) and other preservatives. The pink/red color is the natural color of the meat, the color being preserved with the sodium nitrate, along with oil of paprika spice. It is not red due to food coloring. This is not my opinion, this is a fact, and I've provided the reference links to prove it, including a link to Hormel, one of the largest manufacturers of meat products and pepperoni in the world. Just press the Nutrition and Ingredients tab to confirm what I said. There's no coloring ingredients.
